humor’s major role in the healing process

Dr. Bernie Siegel describes in this video the value that he places on humor’s major role in the healing process. He recalls various situations in his life where he drew upon humor to deal with the variety of issues that life threw his way in the past. His most notable example recalls how a simple joke prevented his friend Jimmy from committing suicide. Seated in his armchair, Dr. Siegel also describes situations where he introduced humor in front of large audiences, where the widespread positive effects could be observed on a massive scale. The message Dr. Sigel leaves his viewers with is simple yet effective, “laugh for no reason” he says. “You’ll be surprised at how much better you feel”. Dr. Siegel is the respected author of various bestselling books including Love, Medicine, and Miracle. His message can be described as all-encompassing as he gives equal focus to the body, brain, and spirit.
